Monday December 7th, an unnamed source for Reuters confirmed our previous prediction that Apple is indeed looking towards moving music into the cloud. The source says, "Apple recognizes that the model is going to evolve into a streaming one and this could probably propel iTunes to the next level."

Cloud computing is gaining momentum with the advent of more powerful ultraportable computers and smart phones. Apple has already begun migrating users towards the cloud with MobileMe and iWork, which now allows users to collaborate online. These parts on their own are not significant themselves. But as a whole it is something which can only mean an ultraportable from Apple. Our prediction is that we will not see the "iPad" this January as expected by most, and it will certainly not see a summer release which may cannibalize the next generation iPhone release. We expect a release date for next year's holiday season.
